OUR SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

FCS students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of exciting educational activities throughout the school year. The content of classroom teaching is reinforced by visits to historical sites, environmental excursions, observation of workplaces (e.g. police, fire stations, businesses) and ministry to others (visiting seniors, Food Bank and missionary projects.)

Our Science Fair and Visual Arts Festival run alternately each year. The students develop a greater appreciation of God through the Sciences and Arts. Our students work hard on these projects and are excited for others to see them.

Our annual Speech Meet with other Christian Schools and the Home School Association offer the opportunity for students to learn to speak with confidence in front of a group of people.

Throughout the school year a variety of sports activities enhance the regular physical education curriculum. Our sports teams enjoy competition with other schools in the Christian Athletic Association of Western Ontario (CAASO).

The special musical/dramatic programs presented in the spring allow students to share their talents with their families and friends, seniors groups and area churches. The ability to speak and perform before an audience is further developed as students lead and participate in school chapel services. Skits, musical performances, visits by missionaries, special guests and school groups , provide the students with a variety of experiences and exposure to different cultures.

The Grade 7 & 8 trip to Ottawa includes a visit to Parliament, the Supreme Court, and many historical sites, and is eagerly anticipated by the senior students. Our Grade 5 & 6 class enjoy several days of Outdoor Christian Education at Fair Glen Camp where they develop a greater knowledge and appreciation for God's creation.

Grandparents'/Special Friend Day is an afternoon set aside to show honour to our extended family members.

These special activities all contribute to developing a student who is growing in all areas of life, pleasing God and serving others.
